This is a discussion on KH within the Beginner Freshwater Aquarium forums, part of the Freshwater Fish and Aquariums category; -->
Hello. How do you raise KH in freshwater? with out using any chemical stuff....
Well...Ok. I did a water test yesterday and it shows KH as in a low level (donít know exactly what it was Im at work) Well.. Did some research and what I found is that KH is a buffer that basically keeps PH from going down in case if something goes wrong. Now ... you donít want your PH go below 5 because then you are screwed.
My PH is 6.8
The reason why I looked in to it in the first place is because Iím increasing Co2 levels in the water using simply No aeration during the day and turning on aeration only at night + on top Iím using Aquarium Co2 Vital that suppose to increase Co2 in water with out having Co2 system.
