With a stand. For 100 Dollars. Help me decide whats going in there. I will be moving the inhabitants from the 28 gallon into the 75 gallon so that's what I need to work around. A definite thing I will be doing is bumping each school of cories to 6. My water is very soft...I can't remember the values off hand, but it's almost devoid of metals. pH is 6.1 give or take a degree. It will be planted with live plants. So guys...HELP ME DECIDE WHAT I WANT! Oh, my other plan is to move one betta and frog to the 28 gallon with garra flavatra, and one betta and frog to the 75 gallon. I'm giving the white clouds to my friend, thus freeing up my 10 gallon tank to leave as a snail breeding tank/quarantine tank/hospital tank.

i really like the way that jaguar cichlids look if you were to do a cichlid tank.

what type of tank were you thinking? cichilid/ community?

Gotta keep it community because I got the cories, loach and puffers and a betta going in there for sure

haha i guess i missed that point. i dont know much about puffers. i love gouramis and angelfish, so if they were cmpatiable i would get some for sure. or possibly a huge school of tetras, they are so calming to watch a large school in a tank

My first thought when I started opening this thread "Bump up all cories to 8 each" but I see you got this covered already lol

With that low pH and assuming your hardness is next to nothing as well, I'd not go cichlid. How about...
Emperor or Kerri Purple Tetra's? Congo Tetra's? Rummy noses?
All these pop to my mind for your water, the corys & Betta. Just make sure to get no fin nippers with the Betta in it!

I'm not a fan of schooling fish, except the cories...and yeah, eights looking like a better number than 6 =) So my question is, are there tetras that arent schooling? What about schooling fish that aren't tetras? Do you kind of get what I mean? Are there solitary tetras?
I'm still debating if I will definitely put the betta in, shes a Cambodian crown-tail, very rowdy, very rambunctious. Her being the shorter finned of my two makes her a better bet for a large community tank. My other girl has fins that totally belie her gender.

My problem with rummy noses are they just seems so darn fragile =/

Got ya no school, so no Danio, no non that....

Well heck dep on your water parameters how about
2 Angels?
2 Blue Rams?
Handful Barbs?
Turquoise Rainbows?
Pair Gourami?

Heck yea why don't you talk to Freddy here who's trying to give away his Kissings & Pleco for shipping???

Honestly most fish coming to my mind for your water (to keep them properly) you gotta house in groups, there's really only few that I could think of that you can only house as pair or singles (only one there I can think of is Bettas)

Even though your Amazon puffers are some of the most docile puffers out there, you may want to keep an eye on them, especially if you're putting the betta in there.

I'm not sure I'd try the gouramis since they're closely related to your betta, which could lead to aggression problems.

What about some docile, community-friendly cichlids? Of course there are a lot of different varieties of smaller cichlids (rams, kribensis, apistogramma, nannacara, etc.) but there are some larger ones that might work, too. There are lots of different species of geophagus that would probably work well and would make good use of your increased tank space.

Nevermind the Killifish--Angel, how many more cories do you think I could fit in a 75 gallon?

Here's the list of what is definitely going to be in the tank so far:

1 Betta
1 Sumo Loach
1 Dwarf Butterfly Cichlid
3 Amazon Puffers
8 Panda Cories
8 Bronze Cories
8 Peppered Cories

So this is what I'm definitely going to have...I think I just wanna have as many cories as I can. Can you give me species ideas and numbers?
