Yes, the nitrate test will be a neccesity if oyu ever have any kind of normal problem later down the raod.

And don't worry about it batman, wait til you reply to the wrong post and then you know you have a problem.

Kuhli loaches are cool. They're not very similar to the clown's except for the orange and black thing, but they're interesting bottom dwellers. Corydoras are always a great choice as well.

Rainbowfish are very cool mid-level fish. There are a lot of large ones, but also plenty of smaller ones. I'd go for the smaller ones as you can do a bigger school, 10-15 threadfin rainbows would be very cool.

Also, a really huge school of celestial pearl danios would be incredible. Like 20-30 of them, as they're tiny. Shoaling fish are basically cooler the bigger the group you get.
