I'd not necessarily say that. You can use it on a 55g, provided you plant the 55g well, like a LOT plants.
Alternatively the one you'd want is the 2213 and its on sale here EHEIM Classic External Canister - Filtration & Circulation - Fish - PetSmart
If there's repair parts for the XP2 at the LFS I donno, but that may be worth wile calling around finding out too.

It's about 44 bucks with shipping for the replacement canister for the XP2 from Rena themselves. That and one or two little pieces and it's over 50 which is half the cost of the unit to start with. Crazy how fast that adds up.

I'm considering getting a new filter now. The XP2 is out of operation. I'd love to have a new Eheim but they are about 100-120 and I don't think they are carried here locally. Gonna go look around the local spots today and see what I can find.

The 55 is currently unplanted. Just fakes. So need to step up my filter situation soon.

That's nuts!

Eheim...had you check the link I posted up top and selected the 2213 (for 55g) and seen its price and that's free shipping too, can't beat that price at any LFS I know of.
