You could meet in the middle maybe and get a 80L tank? That's a neat size tank too.

I'm assuming that's cheap? (I donno the Pound-$ conversion)
You could def add your Rams in that..Its really at that size a matter A) what water you have (soft/ hard) B) what you like.

I strongly suggest buying a liquid test kit that incl pH, KH, Ammonia, NO2 NO3. This will not only help you determine right now what water you have there from your tap, but also help you monitor the tank later one (during cycling this is VERY necessary to have, and later for sicknesses monitoring too).

Cause if you have hard (er) water, I'd def stay away from any of these Tetra's you mentioned before, they will not be healthy in hard water, they need soft acidic water to live in.

Do like an ancient ruins theme and go for the strange fish that really stand out, like a ghost knife.

Or what first came to mind is this awesome looking Armoured bichir. http://www.aquarticles.com/images/Ga...bichir%201.jpg

The diff between price on a 55 and a 75 is not much. Looking at the 75g dimensions I was struck by what seemed to be a nice set-up... 48Lx18Wx20H ... not as narraow as a 55, 2" shorter to make working it actually easier, and 6" wider to give enuff room for a decent aquascape.

I'm sitting here looking at the empty 75g trying to plan the decorations. ...but anyway 75g is a good size, not that much bigger than a 55g.

Budget-wise I'd say get a 55 min. The wal-mart 29 kits are just a few dollars less than the 55 kit... but the filters and hoods are not professional. You might want a canister filter.
