i need some help with my fluval filter for my tropical fish tank

wat i need help with is ive set my filter up and its realy noisy and rataly any one know if this is normal or nt as ive only ever had filters in side th tank ,

i have a 305 canister and it is silent there may be trouble with the air lock system, unplug and re-read how to set it up and try again, remember the canister should be filled before you start it and it is gravity feed so it must have a strait path and be well below then bottom of the tank and the input tube must me well below the water level.
