OK water changes to get you thru this rough stage. De-chlor and same temp.....and did you get Prime? Cause you can add a bit each day/2nd day to get you thru too as it neutralizes Ammonia and NitrIte.
Keep us posted. Sorry you lost some fish. I'm sure you are going thru a rough time with your daughter too over the loss. It is a hard life lesson we have to learn.
Not to worry either about the 8.2 PH. Same as mine. Don't spend any time trying to manipulate it. It finds its own way back anyway and it is the swings that are bad.

I don't have Prime, I have Aquasafe Plus. I wasn't able to do a water change yesterday, and won't tomorrow. I'm trying to get my house in order to do a water change today though.

The difference between the two is that Prime also neutralizes Ammonia and NitrIte as well as Chlorine and Chloramine so good to have in your fish supplies. A single cap does 50 gallons so a very small bottle is all you need and it won't go bad. Smells bad, but it won't go bad. lol.

You will get thru this!!

I'll see if I can find any tomorrow while I'm out shopping. The pleco finally came out and I got a picture. My instincts say he's not feeling well. :(
