Can't you leave the snail where he is until someone with the info gets back to you? If you pick the snail up do you notice a bad smell? That's the only way I'd know to figure out if it was dead or not. My Malaysian trumpet snails stay *closed* for very long periods of time....

If you don't stand up for something you'll fall for anything...

yes there is a smell but last night i thought he was dead because he was upside down and he was sticking out of his shell so we left him go for the night after flipping him back over the way he was suppose to and let him go and to day he was back in his shell so what does it mean if they smell bad

What species is your snail? Snails can lay dormant for hours and even days if stressed by environmental changes. The only possible way to tell whether a snail is dead or not, is by sniffing it. A dead snail smells very terrible. Leave your snail alone to adjust to its tank.

I'm ready for the pressure.
The drama and the pleasure!
If there is one thing I want to see here, it's HUMOR.
I believe I can fly!
I believe I can touch the sky!
I think about it every night and day!
I stand in awe of my body.
