I must be insane! 50 gallons stocking suggestions?

I wanted to get a 20 gallons, but of course I went and found a nice used 50 gallons instead (do NOT look for any logic here...). I am looking for stocking ideas for that monster because I only stocked a 10 gallons so far. I plan to move my honey gourami and corydoras in the 50 gallons and convert the 10g into a male guppies tank.

I'm not really big on cichlids (unless I manage to find Kribensis or blue rams...those are...wow). The only fish I'm 100% certain I want are cories. I want armies of cories patrolling that baby like they own it!

So...any ideas?

For cories, you could try a school of multiple species. You might also want schooling fish, like rasboras and tetras. For the surface you could try mollies or guppies or even hatchetfish. A warning about the kribs, though. If they breed, they get aggresive, and if there are too many fish and too little cover, fatalities will occur. Kribs like retreats like overturned flowerpots. I would suggest the rams, because they're more peaceful. If you can, get the gray, drab, wild caught rams. They may look ugly, but as they mature, they get their colors, and they're a lot cheaper. What is the ph of the water?

Thank you, I'm taking notes...I do love tetras now that I have checked the various species! Do you think a red-tailed shark would have enough space in there, with the cories? I know they are territorials...

i'd just avoid really small tetra's like neons as they may look too much like a meal to the red tailed

A question about cories, can cories of similar sizes but different species school together or should I get 6 of each?

Oh POO, the person I contacted for the 50 gallons changed her mind...but she did offer me her 33 gallons instead with the stand and all equipment for a lower price. I think I'm going to take up on that offer and see how it goes before trying even bigger. There goes the red-tailed shark!
