After all research and suggestions, I am completely torn here and need your votes pls (I donno how to set up a poll, so just leave a msg pls)

On the stocking for the 55g with the Kissing Gourami and Cory cats its now coming down to:

Either large group Barbs (narrowed down to Tiger, Cherry or Gold)
OR
large group of Kerri Purple Tetra

Please send your votes now

I'd just love to be in your shoes Angel! Those are the kind of problems one simply cannot get enough of!

My vote goes to the Tiger Barbs. I just love them critters! They are very active and sooo fun to watch! I only have 7 in my tank and I wish I could get more. The cherry barb is also nice and was a consideration of mine for a while but they are a more peaceful barb than the tiger.

Only downside to the TB is that you'll have to be careful what fish you add to the tank later on as not all fish are compatible with them...

My vote goes with the Tetras if your water suits them. Perhaps tiger barbs would do better?

The most important medication in your fish medicine cabinet is.. Clean water.

@Hawkin, it would then only be Kissings, Barbs (large group) and Cory's no one else.

@1077 I'd wanna have to say the pH is 7.4, I wanna say its a tid bit shade darker then the 7.2 on the scale. But honestly I am not giving this too much headache, at the 'very worst' my pH is a HALF degree over recommended with a low KH.
Which from the exp with the other set ups i HIGHLY DOUBT it'll stay "that high" for much longer. For example the pH rise and fall of my 45g from set up till stable readings now...
Start 6.8 (tap) then to 7.2 > 7.6 > past 7.6 on scale color > 7.2 > Steady 7 for weeks now.

I actually mailed my supplier (since my LFS is making me a good deal buying all my fish there) and see what they can do me for a price - So I'm hoping she'll come back and say something like $2 for one kind and $10 for the other or something ridiculously high that'll help me decide easier lol (considering I'm trying to stock/ finish stocking 4 tanks here ahhh someone hide the credit card lol)

Green Tiger Barbs!! Such kewl fish.

Animal testing is a terrible idea; they get all nervous and give the wrong answers.

The gold barbs look really nice, I just googled them! Also the tetras are very pretty. I have no idea about water conditions though so I'll leave that one up to you :)
My cherry barbs are very peaceful (don't even chase my tiny guppy fry) but tend to spend a lot of time hidden behind the rocks and plants.
