Just noticed I have some what appear to be hydra in my tank (very small, i think it came in with the hornwart I bought a few days ago).

Will they eat molly fry? or am I ok just to leave them?

Newborn fish and shrimp fry are in danger if you have hydra in your tank,
Their tentacles sting, making it easier for them to bring the fry to their mouth.

I would recommend eradication the sooner the better for the safety of all inhabitants especially the young ones.

Always in NEED & looking for more Tanks!

I read about some of the ways to get rid of it, but most of them wont work without killing my fry anyways ( I have some fry in the tank and some in a breeding trap), raising the temp seemed to be the best option but I won't be able to remove all the fry that are already in the tank.

But I did remove the breeding trap and rinse it with hot tap water for 5 min (seemed to have helped)

I am going to refrain from feeding the mollies for a few days because they seem to be eating the hydra.

Hopefully the fish grow quickly...

I know that hydra is bad but man its so cool to watch.
