Hydor ETH Heater Danger?

I am setting up a new system and I ordered a Hydor ETH external heater. When I went to the web site it said that installing the heater on the intake side of the canister was dangerous. Why? Wouldn't it be just as dangerous on the outlet side?

The heater on the intake heats up the water as it hits the filter which will heat up the water more. It makes it so that the temperature coming out of the filter may be hotter than the temperature you intended. Since the heater regulates itself, having it on the output will heat the water according to the temp you want.
