How to stop brown Algae ?

I just finished doing maintenance work on my 29g which was doing a water change, Cleaning the ornaments, Cleaning the glass, and some part of the filter. To remove the brown algae it had.

But i see it coming back. Its around the filter again. Any way to stop this? Ive seen some type of "pills" that claim to stop algae do these really work?

Thanks In advanced,

there are several different options. I would personally just turn of the light and cover the tank with a black tarp for about a week and it gone.
you can also use commercial algae ridders but they aren't as effective and usually kill invertebrates.

ottos also eat brown algae. Over time, it will go away with improved water conditions. I bought 2 ottos and they cleaned it all up
