how often should you rinse/switch out filter floss...

I have it stuffed in one my fluval c4 Hob chamber where the carbon goes

Some let their filters run until the flow slows way down, others may rinse in tank water at every water change. There is no 'law'.
Rinse and reuse any floss, pads or foam until it nearly falls apart, then you might replace half one week and the other half the next.
