How much air...

I filled up my tanks after getting everything set up and such, however my wife is concerned about our 5g tank with 2 platy's in it.(this is a temporary tank) The filter isn't breaking the surface much, and she is worried they wont get enough air. Should I take some water out, or does it matter?

are the platys sitting at the top of the tank and breathing heavily? If they are not, then you should be fine.

I agree ...... if the fish are not near the surface or hanging by the outflow of your filter, they are fine. You could add an air-stone which will agitate the surface and better promote gas exchange. Plus I like the look of all those bubbles!
