Post how many snails do I need?

I'm thinking of adding nerite snalis to my 37g tank.How many would I need?

I read 1-2 for every 5g. I would start off with 6 or 7. If they run out of algae to eat, supplement with algae wafers.

How many do you...need? How many do you want? You don't need any certain number. Lisa, I think the 1-2 per 5g guideline applies to keeping nerites as part of a clean-up crew in a reef tank. In those circumstances, you really need critters effective at algae removal otherwise algae can out-compete your corals. In a freshwater tank there's no such urgent need so you can have as many as you like. I wouldn't get too many though as they are heavy algae grazers so it might be hard to keep a whole bunch of them well-fed.
