How to clean Eco-Complete

I use eco-complete gravel in my planted aquarium. My question is, is skimming over it lightly good enough to clean it. My plants seem to create a good amount of debris, but the gravel does not siphon well due to its small particles. I know a lot of people use this, so how do you do it? Thanks.

Like you, I just go over the surface of the eco complete with the gravel cleaner and I haven't had any problems with this method. Just make sure to go over each area a few times.

Thanks, I figured it was ok since I haven't had any water parameter problems. Just wanted to make sure.
