Housing Upgrade for my fish!! 40 Long

40 Long tank will be delivered soon!!! And the LFS is going to delivery it and check on my fry and see which they would like. Also setting me up as a supplier/trader for them in the future!!!

Already said they were looking for breeders of different fish up here! I told them what store I traded with at my last location downstate. The store I used to trade/supply has a reputation for being picky about who they will trade with so he will deliver my tank and take whatever fry I have large enough or don't want.

In the deal I got the 40 Long, one large bunch of fanwort, credit towards java moss, the hinged lid, a magnet algae scrub, and nice piece of driftwood.

My fish will have lots of room soon as the new tank cycles. So Amanda I will be ready for the trimmings you were going to send me if you still will. Again I will be either breeding or selling coincidental fry appearances!

Thanks to Joey and Buckman I am addicted again!!!!!!

Woooooo HOOOoooo!!!

Well maybe tonight after dark I will try and get pictures. I took back out the newer larger piece of driftwood as the water was looking off color. All testing has come back normal so I think it was all the way cycled. But the color is still there. I started doing more often water changes to no affect. So unless it takes more than 50% water changes I'll just have to live with the color a while. Don't want to stress out the little ones.

I can't believe it but two of the fry Mickey Mouse platty are attempting to breed. I didn't think at 4 - 6 weeks they were old enough but she IS filling with eggs!!!! He is chasing her all over! So again here we go!!!!

Give 'em a bigger tank and they fill it with little ones too. Even the babies are oversexed!!!

If the water had a brownish tint to it that is normal it is the tannins from the driftwood and is perfectly safe for the fish. Some fish even prefer it it will go away with time the only way to avoid it in the tank is to soak and soak and then soak some more the driftwood before you put it in the tank. LOL Do you think it would be better to wait a few more weeks before I send you the plant clippings? I worry about the cold weather and them not makeing it as I don't have any heat packs to send.

Kindest Regards,
Amanda

Well it works now. Dried a few days after I took it apart and cleaned it. For the tank so far so good. The coloration in the water is still there though slighter than before. Water stats still hold good. So I guess it is just the tannins. With so many tiny fish I don't think I will do anything more than 50% changes.

Can't believe the first few males from the fry are trying to mate with the other two adult(?) female guppy! Have their mom in the smaller tank with those going to fish store. Even one of the fry Mickey Mouse Platties is full of roe!

Guess the tank is good and healthy!! They sure are in prime breeding condition.
