High PH Good or Bad?

Ok I finally got a API master test kit. I been checking my ammonia since its been out of control and killed a bunch of my fish. So tonight I check the ammonia and its really good, it was yellow i think thats 0 PPM. It was really dark green a couple of weeks ago. Anyways I checked the PH just now and its really blue. Should I be worried or treat the tank with something? I dont think I have anything to bring PH down. The fish I have in the tank right now are Diamond Tetras, Gold Barbs and a Gourami.

The master test kit also comes with a test for high range PH. Did you do that test also?

Did you also test your tap water? This is necessary. You need to test the tap and post before we move forward on this topic.

Also, take a sample of tap and allow it to sit overnight. Ideally you would aerate this sample overnight to drive out CO2. Then test it. Post all 3 tests. Tap, Tap overnight, and Tank water.

good or bad? depends on how drastic of a change the fish have to go thru. ph swings that are rapid can stress the fish. ph is on a particular type of scale. can't remember the name. but for example. 7 is neutral not acidic nor alkaline. at 8 its like (10 or 100 times, can't remember) more alkaline than neutral. fish are highly adaptable as long as conditions are slowly introduced to them.
