Sorry I have been away for a while. But I have returned to give a status report.

The young one and I finally got our tank to cycle.after the ammonia explosion of a couple of weeks ago, the numbers looked great. No ammonia, no nitrates, no nitrites..... We added fish, and had 3 guppies. we have enjoyed it so much. as time progressed, we decided to add the last 2. I found 2 mollies that looked as if they would compliment the tank. Got them home, floated the bag let them loose, and found all my fish dead the next morning except for one poor guppy:cry:

I was and still confused...... my numbers still look great, I medicated the tank with quick cure, and have been monitoring the lone little guppy. He ;hysically appears fine, but, he acts strangely. often hangs at the top of the tank, then hides on the bottom in the plants and gravel??? He eats readily but acts lethargic??? I have an air stone in the tank for oxygen, and my filter moves a lot of water...only time will tell I guess.

As for the tank....some time has passed since the big fish kill, I talked to some friends who keep tropicals, and one came to check out our setup...He claims it was juat a bad batch of fish, and it happens to all of us.... As encouragement, he came to me a few days later, and gave me one of his juvenile rainbow sharks. He let me know that soon the young one and I will need a bigger tank for him, so we have to keep going. The rainbow appears to be doing well. The guppy still acts strange, but, he is hanging in there...

I will keep you all posted...
