I took my heater out earlier for the first time since I got it (Which was like 7 months ago lol) and discovered that both my suction cups were broken. What should I do? I think my fish will be safe for a day or two without a heater (it's like a bajillion degrees here) but I don't know where I can get replacement suction cups. I'm using a 100 watt topfin submersible heater (the one that comes in the 20 gallon tank kit). Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!
Check with your LFS. They may have replacements on the shelf or order some for you. If it's very warm where you live you'll probably be ok without the heater for a few days. Or, if it's a submersible heater, you can just lay it on the bottom of the tank until you get your suction cups.
We ended up being able to go to the petstore today (we also needed a new UVB bulb for my chameleon since hers just randomly broke) and I got some new suction cups. Since I just ordered a new heater I guess I have a spare now! Which isn't bad since I was planning on getting some new fish and I need a quarentine tank anyway. Thanks!
