i hvae a API test kit freshwater i used the regular blue ph tester and got a 7.6 or so i belive thats what it is. So then i used the high range ph for freshwater to see if my ph was off the low range chart and got a 7.4 im on the high range confused whats my ph?
another question is a ph like mine too high for most freshwater fish? for example elephant nose fish?
I have three, maybe even four, different ph test kits, and I get slight variation between them. As long as the variance is .2 or less, I wouldn't be concerned, as you probably have a good idea roughly where it is.
Your ph is quite good for most tropicals. You have a couple of other threads on pH and several of us have been commenting on various specific aspects. I think the hardness is probably of more importance, as I've mentioned elsewhere. But without knowing that, there are lots of opportunities with "slightly acidic" water fish adapting to what you have.
