Hamster-Used Aquarium?

Well, my betta is currently occupying my 10 gallon quarantine tank... and I'd really like to pick up some more fish.

So I have a 5 gallon here, that recently had a hamster move out of it, no leaks, which I could use. Would this be safe? What all should I do before putting fish in it?

Otherwise I move the Betta to a betta condo/breeder box in the 55 (so the neon's dont bite him) or I just put the fish straight in their planned tanks (which I am only concerned about b/c 2 of my fish are too expensive to risk getting sick. My LFS is awesome, they pre-quarantine, and i've never had a problem with their fish)

Help!

just give everything a good clean with water that is as hot as your hands can stand.
the only thing I would be concerned with is the silicon seal, if that has been chewed off I'd run a new line in those places, just to be sure.

I only use salt and warm water to clean my tank.:)

Ha sorry, that sounded pretty rude. Just I thought it was a bowl so I was picturing a fat hamster like smooshed in a jar. That might be a funny thing to see.

The only thing I would be concerned with is any residual ammonia that may be left from the hampster urine. I would think hot hot hot water and salt for washing, maybe even giving it a soak, would work. I would also use a little melafix while cleaning. Certainly couldn't hurt.
