Had a surprise today!

I was doing a wc on my 40gal this afternoon, and decided it would be a good time to do the canister filter, since I hadn't done it for a while. Well, I found 2 guppies and 3 black widow tetras in the bottom of the canister! LMAO

Here I thought that they had just been eaten - although I have to admit that I really didn't think they WERE eaten, because my tank is very peaceful and everyone gets along great!

What had happened, I realised, was the end of the intake tube had come off at some point, so the poor little devils obviously swam too close and got sucked right in! They were in there for quite some time - I can't remember exactly when I found the end for the intake.....but they are all healthy and happy!

All I can say is thank god for canister filters - they just went on a wild ride through to the bottom of the filter, not coming into contact with any moving parts. And there is enough space in there amongst the bio-balls (which I have at the bottom) - heck, they even had plant matter to eat! ROFLOL

Honestly, I couldn't stop laughing!

Ah, the serenity......nothing more relaxing or beautiful to look at than fish gliding around their tank......

That's crazy!! I can't believe they survived that ordeal.

Animal testing is a terrible idea; they get all nervous and give the wrong answers.

Poor little darlings, I am so glad you found them. They were probably thrilled to be in the tank again.

Sis they have to go through the impeller first before they got to the bottom?
