Yeah, you might want to consider getting a low maintenance plant, like java fern, to eat up some of those extra nutrients. Fish create nutrients in their waste, etc. that plants feed on. Not enough for a planted tank, but certainly enough for a couple undemanding plants. I've got water lettuce in my tank, that just takes over. I take off a huge handful every week or so. It's a nice floating plant (kinda like a lily pad) and the roots suck up plenty of nutrients. Plus, you it's hard for them not to get enough light, as the leaves are above water.
I got a bunch from my LFS for $2 and it's not stopped reproducing since then. If you can't find any, I'll be happy to send you some if you send me a prepaid shipping box...but I doubt it would be worth it.
