Good news on my daugther's 14 gallon tank!

It has FINALLY completed the Nitrogen Cycle! I just tested the Nitrites and it is at zero this morning. I will check the ammonia again, but it has been at zero for several days and then I had to wait for the Nitrites to go to zero and they are all the way down! It is about time! I did a partial water change yesterday thinking I will possibly be able to get fish this weekend. The Nitrates are at a safe level...no problem here.

I am going to go to the LFS today and get some Guppies.....at least I think that is what I am going to get. I want to see fish in that tank!

Even though it is not decorated exactly how it will be in the future, I may take some pictures and post it. I have fake plants and a few live plants in there so the swords are little on the short side in the left back corner vs. the middle fake plant tank being tall. Plus, they have only had incandescent lighting since the live plants have been in there, but they look pretty good for incorrect lighting. The compact correct lights are arriving today from Dr. Foster's along with the correct new fixture for proper lighting for my 56 gallon tank. I need to go to Lowes too but not sure I will do that today...I may.

Brought home three guppies. I should have gotten one more with the pretty black tail so I would have two with black tails and two with red, but she said she is getting different types in real soon. I will go back then and pick out some more. I forgot how fun Guppies are. They are happy go lucky and look happy in the tank. I will take a pic soon.

I got discouraged again on lighting in there. I told her I got a new fixture for my big tank and I left there thinking it is still not going to cut it for my big tank. I must still be confused on this matter....mixture of not knowing much about it and getting mixed information.

I am going to stick with my plan and what I have been told here (need to look at the info again) and see how it goes. My daughter's new bulbs did not come today. The big tank fixture did but the small bulbs for her tank is being mailed separately via USPS. I would think they would be here Monday.
