so yesterday we had Church at our house, it was going to be followed by a 4th of July pool party/ my brothers b-day party. So yea we had a LOT of people over. So in the middle of the sermon someone whispered to me that a fish was on the floor. At first I didn't understand her but finally I noticed that my silver tipped shark (some of you know how I have been trying to figure out why his behavior changed) was not in his "corner" where he always swims in circles. so I look on the floor and hes laying there, pretty dry, dead??? so I moved the kids whose chairs were over the fish, and grabbed my net, as I start to pick him up, he moved and started trying to breathe. so I hurry up and get him back in some water. At this point Im wondering what my pastor, or anyone else is thinking wondering why I am dipping into the fish tank in the middle of service, LOL.
He wasn't swimming much and I didn't want him to just sink if he's not well. so I put him in a separate tank by himself. and within 5 minutes he was swimming about and happy as can be. I left him there until everyone left and now he is back in the big tank and back to normal.
Heres the thing, his "corner" is where he jumped out of, I know because there was a trail of water on top, and the rest of the tank is closed off pretty much. he jumped out of a 2" hole that the heater is hanging in.
I can't believe he got of that tiny hole! He is about 4" long and 3/4" around and the water surface is 2" from the top of the tank.
He fell about 4 feet onto a hard floor, and was pretty dry when I found him, I don't know how he survived, But I'm glad he did!
should I get him some sort of meds for shock? or is it too late? is he ok now?
