wow those tanks are beautiful.
i've got play sand in one half of my tank.looks nice. :) i think.

when you set up a new tank,hide an extra
sponge or two behind some decor,that way you have
something seeded for you next filter.

well, I finally got some sand today, but a few hours cleaning it!!! my arm feels like it's gonna fall off.....it's in the tank and it's settling now, gonna throw the filter back on in a few minutes with the fish....I will post some pictures later tonight if anyone wants to see....I think it's gonna turn out pretty cool!

i would like to see how you got on.
only thing is i might be in bed by then lol,so i'll probably get to see the pics tomorrow.
but you will post them though ?

because I spent about an hour straight just churning sand in a 5 gallon bucket....I'm up in Philly and it's too cold to use a hose....so I had to strir the sand up with my hand while cleaning it.

Pictures should be on tonight I hope!!

Here ya go.....water is still clearing up a little!!!






I am going to my LFS tomorrow to pick up some fish to give it a little color! Maybe some tetras or danios if they got them in!

It looks really good! Nice job on rinsing the sand, the water looks clear to me. I think some real plants would look very nice in there

I've never really ventured into the real plant thing, although I would really like to. I'm setting up a 55G in a month or so and may just wait to do it then.....My tank is so clear now it doesn't even look like there is water in it!!!!
