food question

hi everyone.
how many of you use freeze dried food,
and if this is not too cheeky....
what other goodies do you feed your fish.
looking at getting some stuff on line, and just wanted some ideas.

I use frozen and flake foods. I also feed chopped up cocktail shrimps to my bichir, catfish and most my other fish nipple on them too. For vegetation I use algea wafers and chopped peas as well as a prepared frozen food with algea, anacharis and spinach.

I feed freeze dried brine shrimp twice a week. The fish seem to love it and I also find it's quite good for fry as they can eat it much better than the frozen stuff.

Daz - thanks for sharing that link! :)

OK Ww: you asked so "here it goes" and all comments should be prefaced with IMHO but .

1) do not buy the cubes!!!
The "flat packs" are much more efficient "cost wise".
Most of the flat packs are "zip lockable".
I break off enough to only last for a week, put the remai

2) Do not get Krill unless you have very, very large fish.
I have three packs which I am having to blend into my "beef heart mixture" in order to "use it up" (my fishies really like it).

3) Where feasible purchase "San Fransisco Bay" brands.
The 2nd best is "Hikari".

3) You just "gotta feed some flakes". I feed TetraMin Tropical Flakes.

4) The following are in the order my fish enjoy:
a) Brine Shrimp and/or Baby brine shrimp
b) Blood Worms
c) Ocean Plankton

End of Frozen & Flake Food Section

What my fishies really. really enjoy are
1) my beef heart recipes or variations thereof and
2) red wiggler worms.

BTW I will soon be posting in "Member Submitted Articles" the details concerning my recipes and red wiggler worms.

The brine shrimp and baby brine shrimp to which I was referring are not the "eggs and raise them yourself" but the live shrimp which have been frozen and have been vacuum sealed.

Not to hijack willows thread....

im just curious as to how some of these preparations are made for said fish. I feed just tetramin flakes atm, and hikari sinking wafers for the sharks and cory cats, and they all seem to be happy but i figure a little variety cant hurt right?

when you guys talk about blood worms, brine shrimp, live shrimp, plankton... are these foods added directly to the tank on occasion or are they thrown in the food processor with other things?
