I've been cycling this 10 gallon tank for about a month and a half now, and everything was going smoothly. There's no more ammonia, but nitrites and now nitrates. Two, maybe three days ago this foam started building up around the filter. Does anyone know what it is and how to get rid of it?
I have the light on for picture purposes, but I don't run it yet since there are no fish, and this side of the room gets very little sunlight during the day.
I add two algae wafers at a time to cycle the tank, could I be using too many at once? I've kept aquariums in the past and this has never happened to me before. A little worried about adding fish to this once it's completely cycled if the foam doesn't go away.
