Fluval 305 on a 26 bowfront?

I have downsized from a 60 gallon hex to a 26 gallon bowfront. I have used my Fluval 305 because it is so quiet. I currently have a feather fin cat, an unidentified syn. cat, a spotted raphael and 2 african cichlids(not sure what kind). I would like to add 2 more cichlids. I don't want overkill, but also don't want to buy a new filter. I own a Fluval 205 too, but want to use the bigger one. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm just not sure if it is too much filtration and I think the smaller Fluval would not be enough.

Doesn't the Fluval have flow control on the valve?

Yes it does!!!! Never thought of that! The fish don't seem to mind the flow though!
