Well at first, like I said it was way off the scales so I just left it. since it came down I have been adding about 3 ml every couple days, and testing it regularly.

Try testing for ammonia before you add it and about an hour later, after you have added the 3ml.
Buy then the ammonia should have had a chance to circulate and you will know how much you have raised your levels.
