Fish suggestions

I just sold my angel on craigslist.

I currently have a 29 gallon

Aqueon 30 filter
Planted
Sand bottom

6 black phantom tetra
6 blood fins
6 zebra danios

Debating on what to add:

school of neons or a pair of Some type of South American Cichlid

Also, wondering a bottom feeder suggestion: don't want loaches of any sort, used to have them.

Would love feedback or other suggestions.

Thanks!

No mention is made of water parameters, but going from present fish I would assume somewhere around neutral. A pair of trio of dwarf SA cichlid (some do best as 1 male/2 females) would work. With sand, Corydoras would be fine (some are less tolerant of water parameters so check the specifics in the profiles, we have quite a few species listed now), or a whiptail (Rineloricaria). Another shoaling tetra (several are in the profiles under characins) or hatchetfish (under characins) for the surface, or from the cyprinids a group of rasbora. These are all similar to what you have in that they are not overly-active swimmers and that is important when building a community; too active a fish group can often unsettle the others and lead to stress and related health issues.

Fine; my earlier suggestions are basically viable, just check the profiles for water parameters and select those that do well around the slightly basic (low to mid-7's) range. Some of the dwarf cichlids and characins that require acidic water should be left out.

Kribensis, an African Dwarf cichlid which you can keep in a community tank. Unfortunately they killed one of my corydoras establishing their territory in the tank this morning.
