i have a green severum and 6 giant danios in a 55 and i am looking for a new tank mate. The firemouth cichlid came up in my search and i was wondering is this would be a good match.
I consider that tank to be rather full now. The Severum grows to 8 inches. More of a concern are the giant danio that should be in a larger group (minimum 8) to curtail their possible nippiness.

Something we all need to remember: The fish you've acquired was quite happy not being owned by you, minding its own business. If youíre going to take it under your wing then youíre responsible for it. Every aspect of its life is under your control, from water quality and temperature to swimming space. [Nathan Hill in PFK]
