Petco got smart to that method. Or at least ours did. Ended up listening to how they have to pay staff, have to pay this, have to pay that, blah, blah, blah...yeah, I think she managed to go on a full 5 minutes about it.

My LFS may be more expensive than PETCO, but it's so ridiculously worth it. For one thing, I choose to patronize a store with morals. One that isn't entirely profit driven and does not misinform patrons, in fact they go out of their way to educate them. This is especially worthwhile when buying livestock. Perhaps PETCO is cheaper, but my LFS won't sell me sick fish, or fish that have come in recently. The fish I buy at my LFS are significantly higher quality and the time, money and effort I save in coming home with healthy fish is worth all the money in the world.

Hehe, also, if you're looking for cheap fish stuff, hit up craigslist!

When I read the manual for AC 50 it says need to replace the media every month. I'm just wondering how frequent we really need to replace the media ???
