no they are in the tank with the adult mollies so they will only get eaten if another mollie eats them.

how about planted, nice bits of bog wood then some rams.

when you set up a new tank, hide an extra
sponge or two behind some decor, that way you have
something seeded for you next filter.

you could have fresh water dwarf puffers.
agressive when they mature, but oodles of personality.

There are Dwarf Puffers that are fresh water puffers. You also have a range of puffers that do well in Brackish conditions and then salt water as well.... you might check out
www.thepufferforum.com They have a pufferpedia which explains them. They are not that hard to maintain, but they are aggressive fish, cute and they do learn to recognize you, and will come straight to the tank glass and beg for food... you can see here on utube...
YouTube - Green Spotted Puffer Fish Eats MealWorm

South American Puffers are less aggressive, but they all get aggresive as they get older.

I forgot to add about the South American Puffer, less aggressive, BUT...you have to do some teeth care occasionally, requires sedating fish with clove oil....etc....

Other puffers teeth stay ok without trimming as long as you feed snails and stuff with shells...

Good Luck!
