Yeah I have a 20 high I got off the curb that has been waiting years to go back into service. Its room and time that stop me from setting up tanks. Its not that hard to setup a low budget tank. Usually in my case its the fish that cost almost as much as a low budget planted tank. Currently I am more interested in breeding so have been working with small tanks.

I'm to the point in the hobby where I don't care too much about equipment or looks. I still won't use a HOB filter though. But cheap non-submersible heater, DIY spongefilter or just a powerhead, free sand/dirt/gravel, modified/DIY lights, and just plants grown in my other tanks. I think a lot of people go overboard on tanks and equipment. Fry tank for example only needs a tank and a heater really nothing more for equipment.

It of course also dosen't help when I talk to my wife about it.

Me: "You know, Petco might still have a 55 for $55..."
Wife: "Do whatever you want"

why are you second guesing your wife?

as for me personally, i hate 55 gallon tanks just because theyre to narrow for me. i prefer 75s over 55s ( and even 90s as they are taller ) to bad petco didnt have 75s for $75

i might get over there in the next few days and pick up a 20 long, we'll see.

Yeah, that's why I'm looking at the 120g, it's the same length as a 55 (well, a half inch longer) but is twice as wide and has an extra 4.5" of height to it.

I'd still get a 55 for that cheap in a minute though...if I had something to put it on. I could build my own, like I plan on with the 120, but hard to drag out all the power tools into the snow

what about if you just got it anyway, and put it away until the snows gone, incase
you miss the bargain.

haha, I could, but I do know Petco does this sale quite often. Most people will buy lots of other stuff to go with it (hood, lights, heater, filter, substrate ... etc etc) which makes up for the loss on the tank itself.

Figured I was not the only one, but I'm glad others have the same issue. Sorry Guys

This is my current 10g setup:
http://i1012.photobucket.com/albums/...e/9f92161d.jpg

Which is resting on this table:
VIKA AMON Table top - black-brown - IKEA
VIKA CURRY Leg - black - IKEA

So Id love to put my 20gallon long there although:
1. The tank would not be diagonal which limits the view especially because the shot was taken from my computer chair.
2. i doubt the table will hold the weight without syncing in the middle.

The 20 would just be so much nicer then the 10 gallon. I would get alot more RCS that's for sure. I love the little guys. However it is hard to find stock for a 10 So maybe I should do something else with the 20 down the road. Ill move the neons to the 20 at that point and keep the ember in the 10.
