If you type bleach in the search box up in the upper right hand area, you'll get some threads about cleaning tanks. There is one entltled "How can you make a tank safe?" , that has helpful information about how to clean tanks that have been used for other types of animals. I'd give it a try. Good luck.
Simply empty and clean with water and a splash of chlorine bleach, then rinse well, then rinse again. Since the tank did not hold water, you should do a leak test. If it's an old tank, I'd reseal it to be safer (instructions in DIY section).
Father Knows Best but Abbey knows everything! I once knew everything, then I asked one question.
