My 16g bowfront was decimated by a virulent strain of ich, killing all of my fish. I've since stripped the tank, cleaned it out, added new substrate (eco-complete) and replanted it. I know I want tetras again, but I can't bring myself to do the Von Rios again. I adored those little fish and still think they're beautiful (mine colored up gorgeously) but I feel strange about having them again.
The fish I'm now considering are:
Green neon tetras
Gold neon tetras
Green fire tetras
I'm okay with a species tank like I had before, but I'm not opposed to having two smaller shoals if they would work.
Have any of you had experience with any of these fish? Any thing you want to tell me about them? Sway me toward or away from one particular kind? Basically, I'm looking for help to decide.
