Cycling with a shrimp

Hi I'm cycling my ten gallon tank with a shrimp and everything is going well so I assume, but I wonder, is there supposed to be mold growing on the shrimp, I noticed it yesterday. Should I put a new one in?

I don't the answer, but I am doing the exact same thing and I haven't touched my shrimp. The mold or white fuzzy stuff grew around it, which I think is what is providing the ammonia for the cycle. My ammonia levels are still too high in that tank to add fish. I don't know at what point I'm supposed to take remove the shrimp.
