Okay, I am VERY confused!
1 reputable goldfish site says 4ppm and here you're saying that just 2ppm is too much? If it's all getting cycled and removed during the cycling process, then why does the amount matter?

Sorry for any confusion...

Did you read my quoted text?

It says that 3-5 drops per 10 gallons, which would be max 38 drops, so you may have too much, but like I said, I can't tell from the pic what colour it matches up with. If it is in fact 2ppm, then you are fine and the ammonia you used may not be as pure... so a lot of this depends on what you used as well.

You looked at the colours, you can tell more than us where it is at so go with that. We aren't giving conflicting information, just trying to make certain that it isn't too much as that is as bad, or worse, than too little.

Jeff.

Yes, I read your quoted text. AbbeysDad was getting me confused. I assumed he saw the picture and that is why he said I added too much :/

I've since added a small amount and hubby eye matched the colors to 4ppm. He's pretty good at eye matching car paint, so I'll take his word on it. I'll leave it alone and let it take it's course. Only adding ammonia to feed it like the cycling thread says to.
