Cycling 210 Gal Tank

I have a 210 Gallon tank.

I have 6 Danios, 4 columbian tetras, 6 black neon tetras, 5 cherry barbs, 6 gold barbs, and 2 thicklipped gouramis.

After one month I still had no ammonia or nitrite reading, so I got 3 old filter pads from the LFS to jump start the process a bit. Finally 2 weeks later, I stated getting some ammonia showing up.

Today I had an ammonia reading between 0.5 and 1.0 and a nitrite reading around 0.3

My question is..... do I do a water change during the middle of my initial cycling of the tank?

If oyu cyclewith fish, water changes are an absolute to help keep the fish alive. Treat the water before oyu put it form the water change to make sure oyu don't kill any of the bacteria and you are good to go. 25-50% a week will help a lot and if you see the levels get much higher than that you need to change at least 50% to protect your fish.

Water changes will not interupt a cycle unless the water has massive amounts of chlorine and goes untreated.

yes yes yes! Keeping the ammonia level as low as possible is what will allow the cycle to continue without any fatalities.

You might try adding BioSpira...

Here are two good links for cyling information. They are awesome. Very detailed yet easy to understand. It's how I learned about cycling.
