Hi everyone I was just wondering if anyone could tell me a rough estimation of how much longer my tank has to cycle until I can add fish. Parameters are Ammonia - 2.0ppm, Nitrite - 1.0 ppm, and Nitrate 5.0. I used the API Master freshwater test kit for these results.

It's hard to say as it depends on a huge number of variables. It could be anywhere from a week to several weeks more. Just keep monitoring those levels. Eventually you'll have zero ammonia and nitrite and a positive nitrate reading. Depending on the nitrate level, you may need to do a large water change before adding fish.

What ammonia source are you using to cycle the tank?

I had a tiny bit of pure ammonia in the house left but ran out and could not find a place that sold it so I started using fish food. My readings are:

Ammonia: 0.25ppm
Nitrite: 5.0 ppm
Nitrate: 5.0ppm

i'd say about 3 weeks to be safe and now that you have those readings dont add any more food or amonia
