Cycled Tank

Started up my new tank 1 month ago now and it cycled in a little over 2 week's! I used my old filter media from my other tank and some water and driftwood as well. Readings have been spot on for the last 2 week's. My stock in the tank is doing great. Haven't lost any fish.

that's very good news.

when you set up a new tank, hide an extra
sponge or two behind some decor, that way you have
something seeded for you next filter.

It's actually kindof an instant cycle. If/when you have enough beneficial bacteria in filter media to handle the bio-load, switching to another tank is not much different than a large water change. Now there can be exceptions and as we all know, it still takes about 6 months before we can would it an established tank. And we still need to be careful about additions that could upset the balance.

Father Knows Best but Abbey knows everything! I once knew everything, then I asked one question.
