I live out here in N. California. I wondering if I can get a custom size tank done. Basically take a 55g tank and instead of being around 12" back I would like to have one 18" back. I need to get a new tank and wondering how much more would a 48"x18" x24" deep?
Exactly, just buy a 75 or a 90, you could even do a 110XH. There are also 3' tanks that are 18" front to back and range from 30B, 40B, 50, and 65 gallons.
Petsmart usually has the best deals on tanks that I've seen, they often go on sale for 10-15%.
Petco also has a $1/gallon sale, up to 55 gallons, going on right now so you could get the 40B for $40. Dosn't meet your total size, but does have the width advantage.
Don't buy from glasscages without reading all the horror stories first. I have seen one nice big one in person, I would never trust it to hold water in my house.
Update. I went to my local smaller and a little more $ than a deathco or deathmart pet store but sooooo much better. I have a 75g tank coming. It only goes four more inches back. But be suprised how nice having four more inches to use will be. Now I am trying to figure out which co2 valve assembly or set up to go with. I will discuss more about it in Aquarium Plant thread. Any help thanks.
