I have blanched both cucumber and zucchini and gave them to my fish. It doesn't make a mess ad long as you dont leave it in the tank longer then I mentioned before. After that it starts to fall apart. LoL

You don't really have to blanch them as mentioned before but it does make it easier for the fish to eat.

I feed my fish zucchini but the first few times i did blanch it and it became a mess in a few hrs. I dont blanch it anymore and its gone wihin a day and never messy. I take fresh spears and put it in a veggie clip on th side of my aquariums and 80% of my fish LOVE it.

I put some cucumber in my tank, pealed the skin off just in case. 24 hours later it was still untouched so I went to take it out and it just disintegrated. Filter clean needed lol

The skin doesn't need to be removed. My shrimps and MTSs actually eat the skin. If your fish have never had fresh veggies, it may take them a while to realize that it is actually food. I found it most helpful to not feed them when I give them fresh veggies. That and it cuts down on the waste since the veggies are available to them for about 2 days in my tank.
