Lightbulb Converting a LARGE snake cage into a freshwater aquarium

Hello all.
I had to recently give my snakes to a better home since my son is allergic to thier food (rats) and I now have a very large glass front cage that I want to convert into a freshwater aquarium. The mesurements are from the outside demensions are 6ft long X 3 ft high X 2 ft wide. It is a wood frame and I was figuring on using the frame to support the glass for it. I will be removing the doors if you all think it is better off without them. Please let me know what you think, and also what type of fish would be best for this size tank as well.

I'm afraid of converting that tank over to a water aquarium is pretty much impossible, you would need to buy a full tanks worth of glass, as most likely even the front piece is not thick enough to support water, at which point it would be cheaper and safer just to buy a tank, or look for one on craigs list. You might look at converting it to a vivarium for other reptiles such as large lizards, since they will eat bugs and not rats.

You could always sell/trade the snake cage on craigslist and use the money to get an aquarium. Like zof said, converting it to an aquarium wouldn't be practical.

Advice for anyone new to the hobby: Do your research!! Before you do anything to your aquarium, take some time to research it. It has made a huge difference for me

S.A. Flooded Jungle (20 gallon)
A heavily planted tank. Inhabitants include: 7 Lemon Tetra, 1 Whiptail Catfish, and MTS.
