Cloudy water

my 29 gallon tank has been set up for about 3 weeks now and has 2 kribensis, 7 cardinal tetras, and a skunk loach. i have a marineland LED fixture with two small live plants and a piece of mahogany driftwood. i have a aquaclear 50 and a biowheel for filtration( with carbon removed filter pads). it is a blackwater tank and the tank is not clear. it has a cloudy effect to it to the point where it is difficult to see the wall behind it. i changed the filters once and continue to add CYCLE to the tank. how can i clear it up? thank you

Your tank is going through the cycling process (link to article... ) and it can be perfectly normal for the tank to become cloudy, it is the nitrifying bacteria trying to colonise & stabilise. Once they have, the cloudiness will clear up on its own and in it's own time. A bacterial bloom (which I would say you have, is the cloudiness whitish looking?) won't harm the fish.

Are you monitoring the water parameter levels, keeping check on the ammonia, nitrite & nitrate? All you need to do is really just be patient , keep monitoring the water parameters and do the necessary partial water changes when needed to keep the readings at the safe levels for the fish during the cycling process. Also, I would not clean the filters/filter media during this time, that is where a lot of the beneficial bacteria will colonise and by cleaning the filter you are removing the bacteria that you need, which will only set the cycling back causing it to take longer.
