My small tank has been cloudy for almost two weeks, I have tried almost everything to remedy the siutation- I am game for all suggestions. Here is a little background on the tank.
10 gallon, freshwater
temp and all water parameters are fine, little to no ammonia.
occupants include three tiger barbs- (two medium and one small sized)
no live plants (although i plan to change this once it is all cleared up).
tank is three months old, and this is the second time this has happened. the tank is just cloudy in general, there is no green hue to it. when i looked at the filter last week, i noticed it was a little gunked up, so i rinsed it in some tank water. SLIGHT improvement in water. before you offer suggestions,
I DO NOT overfeed
I DO NOT keep my light on too long
tank does not have access to excessive natural light
I have done a series of partial water changes. Now I am just doing nothing, hoping mother nature can clear it up. The fish look fine, they are playing, eating, etc. they are moving to a larger tank once it has finished cycling. please help me clear up my cloudy water!! I do not suspect algae, for some reason I think this is a bacterial bloom- not sure why. so am I better off leaving it alone or tinkering with it?? please help!
