Cleaning with bleach

So I need to sanitize an aquarium and heard that you can clean it using bleach. M issue hear is that if you combined bleach with aquarium water it would react with the ammonia in the water and spew chlorine gas. How do I bleach the aquarium?

I've bleached all my aquariums with all types of bleach and never experienced any problems. Just make sure its thoroughly rinsed out and no longer smells of bleach when you go to fill it back up, you could even let it sit out over night, or for a few days before. :)

I've used bleach also with no problem. I rinse it out with water treated with a lot of Prime just to be safe.
